Discover the Porsche 356: The Birth of a Legend

Production of the 356 started in 1948. The 356 is a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door sports car and was the first production car that Porsche ever made. All 356 variants were available as a coupé or as an open-top version; cabriolet, speedster, or roadster.

This classic Porsche is highly regarded as a collector’s car and in total four versions were available; the 356, 356A, 356B and 356C.

The 356A appeared in 1955 and was the first to feature the Carrera engine along with several alterations to the original model. These rare classics were fan favourites and are now among some of the most famous and cherished sports car designs of all time.

Beyond its road appeal, the 356 achieved remarkable success in motorsports. Notably, a class win at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951 cemented its reputation for performance.

In today's market the 356 is a car which is very hard to come by. Due to its rarity and significance of being the Porsche's first speedster, the 356 speedster made it onto Hot Cars list of “Top 10 Rarest Porsches Currently Owned By Collectors”.
