Publicly unveiled in May 2010 with a starting price of around £165,000, the 911 GT2 RS (997) at the time became the fastest, most powerful manual road-going sports car to be built in Porsche’s production history and was referred to on its release as “the maddest Porsche in a good while”. With only 500 units built worldwide, the GT2 RS is the rarest in the 911 model family.
With an updated and upgraded version of the 997 GT2 engine, its twin-turbocharged 3.6 litre six-cylinder boxer engine provides power to the rear wheels through its manual six-speed gearbox to produce an upgraded 611 hp. With its precise steering, traction and stability, the GT2 RS was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in an incredibly quick 3.4 seconds and hitting a top speed of 205 mph.
