Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV: 750 HP & Inspiration from Legends

Unveiled in 2015 at the Geneva Auto Show as officially the fastest production Lamborghini at the time of launch was the Aventador LP750-4 SV.

The suffix “SV” translates from Superveloce to “Superfast” which has also been featured in the high-performance versions of the Miura, Diablo and Murciélago. All of these previous Lamborghini supercars inspired the Lamborghini engineers and designers in helping to create the Aventador LP750-4 SV.

Featuring the famous 6.5 litre V12 engine with an upgraded powertrain, the horsepower was increased from 700 hp to 750 hp. There was use of more carbon fiber on the inside and this reduced the weight by 50 kg.

Needless to say, the combination of the two former enhancements alone provided impressive performance figures. The car could manage a top speed in excess of 217 mph and a superfast 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

New forged centre-locking lightweight alloy wheels and carbon ceramic brakes are fitted as standard to the Aventador SV but the most striking new look is the head-turning large rear wing which can be manually adjusted to three different positions for optimise aerodynamics and downforce.

A new steering system - “Lamborghini Dynamic Steering” - was offered on the Aventador SV, and new at the rear is the adoption of mesh which increases engine cooling along with a large diffuser.

In 2015, a roadster version of the Aventador LP750-4 SV was released featuring a two-piece carbon fiber hardtop.
